Single mothers are often so busy taking care of their children that they have no time for themselves. A Mother's Dream is a program that provides these selfless women with one day of pampering, relaxation, and appreciation.
Through this program, mothers are "adopted" for the holidays. Individuals donate gifts for the mother they have adopted. After the holidays, the adopted mothers are treated to a luncheon and presented with gifts exclusively for themselves.
Pronounced AH-GAH-PEH. This program is designed to aide young fathers ages 14 to 26 in understanding the complex nature of child development and the important role fathers play in the healthy development of children. Be the best dad you can be! Fathers who care for, nurture, and play with their babies raise children with higher IQs and with better language and cognitive skills. Involved fathers enhance their children’s communication skills because they tend to ask children more questions than mothers, which builds vocabulary and conversational skills.
Exhilarating Inc. contracts with businesses, organizations, and agencies to assist with organizing and implementing various programs, such as job training programs for youth, life skills programs, and parenting classes. We offer expertise and advice through consultant services. Areas of expertise include: Program Development, Program Implementation, Grant Writing, Motivational Speaking, Presentations, Administering Assessments, Educational Workshops, and Social Work.
The program serves young adults ages 16 to 26 years-old. The program aids participants with finding stable and safe housing, employment, and learn how to live independently. Participants will ultimately learn the skills needed to successfully enter and navigate adulthood. We also offer participants one-on-one mental health coaching, on-going case management, financial education, and daily living skills. All participants will receive a piece of luggage upon completion of the program. Funding for this program is provided by One Lexington's Violence Reduction grant.
The Nurturing parenting program is for parents with children that are newborn to 18-years-old. The program features activities to foster positive parenting skills with nurturing behaviors, promote healthy physical and emotional development, and teach appropriate role and developmental expectations. This program meets the requirements for Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) parenting classes.
Ready to Work is a workforce program that offers teens a practical approach to acquire new competencies and skills needed for a job in a real working environment. This program offers opportunities to help teens gain the financial knowledge, skills, and access to resources necessary to be successful in the workforce. Funding for the program is provided by the Creating Safer Neighborhoods Initiative grant at CHI Saint Joseph.
This is a 6-week program that seeks to enhance the lives of young women ages 12 to 26-years-old. The goal of this program is to enhance the wellbeing of women in this age group who often deal with issues such as anger, depression, and low self-esteem. The program consists of educational sessions and fun activities using an evidence-based curriculum . Topics covered include self-esteem, respect, friendships, anger management, communication, and more. The program:
