Agape is a nurturing program for males ages 14–26, who are young fathers or at risk of being teen fathers. The program will focus on nurturing skills and navigating parenthood. Dinner will be served and participants will receive a new car seat, pack & play crib, and other baby items/supplies. Transportation is provided.
Agape is a volunteer program and is the only local program for young fathers. In the program we use two evidence-based curriculums: Nurturing Parenting for teen parents and Realityworks. The program includes hands on activities, parenting information and guest speakers. Topics covered pertain to issues that affect many young fathers, such as child support, fatherhood, employment, expungement, child safety, relationships, and community resources.
This is a 6 to 8 week program. Upon completing the program, all fathers receive free baby supplies, such as a car seat and a pack and play crib. In addition, after-care services are provided for a year after program completion. Agape provides many beneficial parenting and life skills that will aid young fathers in being role models for their children.
Males ages 14–26 that are interested in participating in the program are encouraged to sign up on the Events and Registration page. The application process is ongoing.
